Mayor's Awards

In 2003, the Historic Preservation Office launched the Mayor's Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation. This award honors significant contributions made by individuals, organizations, and businesses promoting historic preservation in the District of Columbia.

Mayor Adrian M. Fenty delivered the keynote address at the 2007 Mayor’s Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation Tuesday, October 9, at the Atlas Performing Arts Center, 1333 H Street, NE honoring individuals and projects in eight categories.

Last year marked the third consecutive year the event was co-sponsored by the DC Preservation League. Generous support from our lead event sponsor, “A Few Cool Hardware Stores”™, owned by Marc Friedman and Gina Schaefer, and hosts, the Atlas Performing Arts Center, made the event a memorable one. Additional support for the event was provided by Nixon Peabody LLP Attorneys at Law, US Bank, and the law firm of Jones Day.  Select the links below for more details on our sponsors.
